About Me

     It all started a few decades ago as a two-year-old at my first kitchen and bath conference. I was instantly hooked. Who needs toys when you can play with tile samples? 

     I grew up in the industry quite literally. Job sites, client meetings, and conferences were regular outings. My mother (a boutique residential architect) took me everywhere. Unknowingly exposing me to so much knowledge and experience I would build from in the future. 

     Fast-forward to twenty-two years or so and I'm in architecture school, taking as many side projects as possible to pay my way through. That's when I realized something about the industry. Many [designers and architects] have not had the same opportunities to absorb design and understand it as I have. I knew right then that teaching design was my end goal. 

     Welcome to Rafi's Design Corner, a place to hone in on your design skills, be exposed to everything I know and have experienced, and join a community for practical feedback. It's all about us sharing our knowledge and building up the built world in the best way we can - through thoughtful, functional, beautiful design.
